Here's something from the NHL (and the wider world of sports) that bugs me. Robert Lang signs a contract last year. In one year, the general manager suddenly figures out that he can't afford Robert Lang.
I'm no CEO, but can you really look at your books, sign Lang and within twelve months suddenly realize this is going to break you? If so, you need to be fired. Of course, I know McPhee from my days in DC and he should have been fired a long time ago.
