Why be so coy? Why don't they come right out and say 'he was cruisin' for hookers and/or drugs' rather than simply imply it by describing his surroundings.

Last month, Rivellini said that when Swindal was arrested [For DUI], he was headed to his boat, where he planned to spend the night. He was arrested about 40 blocks from the marina, near a bail bonds building and a Laundromat.

It's odd to wake up and find hockey news front and center. I've watched nearly every Rangers game this year and this is the first time anyone in the national media has paid attention. Granted, the Rangers are a mediocre team clawing and scratching to get into the playoff picture, but still. Hell, even Mike and Mike (ESPN Radio) were talking about "The Incident" this morning and those guys couldn't pick Ryan Hollweg out of a line-up if it was only him and the Baywatch girls.

I guess what I'm saying is that there is going to be a lot of talk in a lot of places in the next few hours and it's my guess that most of it is going to come from blow-hards and fair-weather hockey fans who can't find the time to mention hockey at any other moment except when they see an idiot fourth-liner swing his stick at another idiot fourth-liner. The last time Mike and Mike deemed hockey worth mentioning was when the dismal All-Star game ratings were annouced. They didn't bother to talk about who won the game, the MVP, or recap any of the highlights... They just wanted to mention how crappy the ratings were.

So while it may sound arrogant or ignorant, I don't think they deserve to have their comments taken seriously. I suggest you ignore 80% of what you'll hear about "The Incident".

Otherwise, here's the deal: If you're going to talk about this, talk about this and this and this and this and this.

And until you do, I couldn't give two shits about what you have to say about Chris Simon.

Now, the Islanders might have plenty of cap room to sign both Smyth and UFA-to-be Jason Blake. But they struggle badly at the gate, and because of their proximity to New York City, don't qualify for revenue sharing. And so, it's quite possible that both Smyth and Blake will be playing elsewhere next season, making this season perhaps the best chance the Isles will have to win the Stanley Cup for quite some time.

This is a team that is still paying Yashin a ridiculous sum of money and recently signed their goalie to a 15-year contract. I do not want to hear complaining about their revenue. They have their cap and we missed a year of hockey so they could get it. And now we're learning that it wasn't the system, but incompetent owners that were causing all the trouble? Suck cock.

I'm thinking the US could claim a similar mistake and everyone could have a good laugh.
