The Bruins just signed Nick Boynton, so they finally have a D-guy who can pass and play some offense. With Girard out for at least the season and Berard still looking for his 2 mil plus, this is great news. This takes the B's defense from shitty to almost respectable.

As of right now, our top four are looking like:
1. O'Donnel (big, bruising stay-at-homer who clears the crease)
2. Boynton (good transition game, good for ten goals a year and plays sound defense)
3. Dan McGillis (defensive stalwart, hits like a mofo)
4. Hal Gill (doesn't hit enough, but great D in the corners and good poke-check)

These guys are all monsters. After that, I think you can expect Jeff Jillson to play for the big club this year, and he's pretty good offensively. One of Rich Brennan (career AHLer, but played awesome for the B's last year before being hurt), Shaone Morrison (young D prospect who performed well in several call-ups), Ian Moran (signed from the Pens last season, vocal leader, but not so skilled) or the dark horse, Milan Jurcina, to step in on opening night.

I know this won't meet with a lot of agreement, but I really hope Berard comes back so that the B's can have three balanced D-pairings next year.
