It's odd to wake up and find hockey news front and center. I've watched nearly every Rangers game this year and this is the first time anyone in the national media has paid attention. Granted, the Rangers are a mediocre team clawing and scratching to get into the playoff picture, but still. Hell, even Mike and Mike (ESPN Radio) were talking about "The Incident" this morning and those guys couldn't pick Ryan Hollweg out of a line-up if it was only him and the Baywatch girls.

I guess what I'm saying is that there is going to be a lot of talk in a lot of places in the next few hours and it's my guess that most of it is going to come from blow-hards and fair-weather hockey fans who can't find the time to mention hockey at any other moment except when they see an idiot fourth-liner swing his stick at another idiot fourth-liner. The last time Mike and Mike deemed hockey worth mentioning was when the dismal All-Star game ratings were annouced. They didn't bother to talk about who won the game, the MVP, or recap any of the highlights... They just wanted to mention how crappy the ratings were.

So while it may sound arrogant or ignorant, I don't think they deserve to have their comments taken seriously. I suggest you ignore 80% of what you'll hear about "The Incident".

Otherwise, here's the deal: If you're going to talk about this, talk about this and this and this and this and this.

And until you do, I couldn't give two shits about what you have to say about Chris Simon.
